Leadership Development at Gunnedah Shire Council

GPS COLLOQUIUM OUTCOMES AT GUNNEDAH REGIONAL COUNCIL

Gunnedah Shire Council is located in the north-east of New South Wales, approximately 435 kilometres from of Sydney. Gunnedah is a regional town which lies on a ridge above the Namoi and Mook Rivers. It has a population of 10,000 residents and plays an important role in the success of the local agricultural sector.

Gunnedah Shire Council Chief Executive Officer Eric Groth identified the need to develop leadership capability for all people leaders within the organisation. Gunnedah commenced their developmental program with a two day executive workshop, which was followed with a nine month executive and manager Colloquium. The success of the first two programs, supported with a 98% recommendation, led to the engagement of a second nine month coordinator and team leader Colloquium.

Gunnedah Shire Council utilised the Applied Management Colloquium to effectively develop leadership capability and team cohesion across the executive, manager and coordinator cohorts.
